| Not-For-Profit Applications and Guidelines |
|
| Not-for-profit organizations may apply under (1) the Access to Capital category OR (2) the Community Development Support category. |
|
| (1) Access to Capital category |
|
| Funding will enable applicants, including social enterprises and co-operatives, to apply for repayable financing up to $250,000 on commercial terms through loans from Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs). Interest rates will be negotiated based on the requirements of each applicant. Terms of loans will be developed on a case-by-case basis and may include such conditions as no repayment for a defined period, interest payments only for a defined period, interest and capital repayments for the following period of the loan, and may be used as subordinated debt to encourage leveraging from other lending sources. |

| The Sand Plains Community Development Fund has a two-stage application process: (1) Pre-Proposal and (2) Business Loan Application. |
|
| (1) Pre-Proposal — will include a cover sheet, narrative and budget. |
|
| First, read the Not-For-Profit Applicant Guidelines first to determine if your organization is eligible to apply and your project is covered under the descriptions of Projects That Qualify and Priority Areas. |
|
| Contact the office of your local Community Futures Development Corporation. |
|
| Prepare and submit a Pre-Proposal Application Not-For-Profit Organizations to the CFDC staff. |
|
| Meet with the CFDC staff to discuss your pre-proposal. |

| Applicants whose projects are deemed eligible under the Access to Capital category will consult with the nearest office: |

| (2) Business Loan Application — Applicants will be required to submit a Business Loan Application to the CFDC which includes a completed business plan and CFDC loan application (personal statement of affairs, business bank/credit information, business assets, disclosure and release statement, cash flow, income statement and cash flow assumptions, acknowledgement of CFDC privacy statement). |

| (2) Community Development Support category |
|
| The maximum level of total government funding (federal, provincial, and municipal funding) for projects under the SPCDF must not exceed 85% of total project costs. |
|
| The minimum 15% non-government contribution to your project can be cash, in-kind support from your organization or from other sources of funding, or a combination of both. In-kind support means contributions other than monetary which defray a portion of the project’s eligible costs. |
|
| The Sand Plains Community Development Fund (SPCDF) has a two-stage application process: the Pre-Proposal and the Full Application. |

| Applicants whose projects are deemed eligible for SPCDF funding will be asked to complete a Full Application. DO NOT COMPLETE THE FULL APPLICATION UNLESS DIRECTED TO DO SO. |

| (2) Full Application — will include project details, project funding budget, projected deliverables, letters demonstrating regional support, confidentiality, consent and certification agreement (for each partner), etc. |

| Once completed, the Full Application will be reviewed and then presented to the Project Selection Committee. |
